Bev McCollum


Bev McCollum plays the wonderful Martin Ott Pipe Organ and directs the Adult Bell Choir.  She started playing the organ in her hometown church of Kingsley, IA at the age of 10 and hasn't stopped!  She has been a part of the Morning Star congregation and Music Ministry for the last 13 years.  Her Bachelor of Music Education Degree (with a major in organ) was from Drake University in Des Moines, IA.  She received her Master of Music Degree, with emphasis in organ and church music, from Northwestern University in the Chicago, IL area.  After working for 2 years towards her Doctorate of Musical Arts degree (majoring in organ and church music) at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, she traveled overseas with her family and taught a year in Scotland and a year in Australia.  She is retired after teaching music for 18 years in the Omaha Public Schools.
