Rick Jacobi

Greetings! I am Rick Jacobi and it is my honor to join the team at Morning Star.    

As a child in my hometown of Spalding, NE, I developed a love of music, particularly for the organ. It was cultivated by my parents, my piano teacher and the small community. My education continued at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where I earned a Bachelor’s of  Music Education Degree with the organ being my major instrument. My Master’s Degree was completed at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.    

As a Music Educator in the Millard Public Schools at Harvey Oaks Elementary, I use the Orff Schulwerk approach to teach students Music and Beginning Band. For the past several years, I have played at St. Wenceslaus Church and recently helped oversee the installation of the Casavant Pipe Organ. 

At Morning Star, I hope to build upon the fine tradition of organists that have served the church in the past, collaborate with the current music staff and enhance the worship and prayer life of the church through music. 

When I am not teaching or playing the organ I enjoy bike riding, traveling, exercising and spending time with my two Miniature Schnauzers, Murphy and Darby.
