My name is Sarah Dumke and I am very excited to be joining the team here at Morning Star Lutheran Church, Preschool & Child Care Center as the Director. I am thrilled about this position and look forward to getting to know everyone. But first, I’d like to begin by telling you a little bit about myself.
I was born in Englewood, CO and lived in Colorado Springs for several years until my family moved to Papillion in the 90’s. Nebraska is my home now, but I still love Colorado and love to take vacations out there as much as possible. I currently live in Bellevue with my husband, Jeremiah, and our 4½ year old daughter, Samantha.
I got my start in Early Childhood Education when I was a teenager and began working at a before and after school program. After working there, I decided I wanted to be a preschool teacher, so I went to Metropolitan Community College and graduated with my Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education. A few years after that, I graduated from Bellevue University with my Bachelor’s Degree in Human and Social Service Administration. Throughout my 22 year career in the early childhood field, I have taught infants all the way through Pre-K, have been an assistant director, an educational coach, and a director at different centers throughout the Omaha area.
I am very passionate about early childhood education and I believe that all children should have access to high quality care. I am so excited for this opportunity to work with the staff and families at Morning Star!
